The Disney Cruise app looks great — the graphics are clean and polished, and it definitely captures the Disney magic visually. Unfortunately, that’s where the magic ends.
At home, the app is prone to crashing, and many key features (like check-in!) don’t work properly. You’ll end up using the website anyway, which defeats the point of having an app in the first place.
Once you’re on board, things don’t improve much. The app demands access to your data and won’t work with Private Relay enabled over DCL’s Wi-Fi. Even then, it frequently shows outdated or incorrect information. Menus were wrong multiple times during our trip, and when we asked about it, crew members just shrugged — clearly it’s a known issue.
Worse yet, the app is not intuitive. Many guests didn’t realize they could swipe or scroll for more info, and if you’re the tech-savvy one in your group, be prepared to spend your vacation being the unofficial app tutor. Not exactly the relaxing getaway you were hoping for.
It’s a great concept with nice visuals, but the functionality and user experience just aren’t there. Needs major improvement before it can really enhance the cruise experience.
